The Perfect Craft Room

IMG_3276
At the moment we are building our first home… It is starting to look really good. Today they poured the cement in the garage and peeping through the windows I saw that the kitchen cupboards are now in place.

Which means I don’t have long to decide how to fill my craft room. (Yep I’m getting my own craft room!! No more sharing the dining table!!)

On Monday we drove down to Perth to drop Tony (my husband) off for work and went in to IKEA.

We weren’t the only ones….

The people piled in for over 20 minutes at this pace! Not sure where they all came from as there definitely weren’t that many waiting outside!

We walked through the shop admiring some items, not liking others as much… then I saw THE room!! For those that have never been to IKEA, they have a number of rooms set up so you can see how things work in rooms.

This room was around the same size as my soon to be craft room. And it had the PERFECT amount of storage without it looking too crowded.

Elisa and I sat at the desk for a while admiring everything…. unfortunately it was so busy I couldn’t take a photo of the room without including about 10 other people.

I contacted IKEA via facebook yesterday explaining how it was my perfect room and I need all the items… today they sent me a photo and will be sending me a list of everything tomorrow.

Very happy now 🙂 Although I think I will need to start saving….

What do you think of this room?

Would there be enough storage for you? I love how there is 2 desks opposite each other so I can sit there and do things with the kids too.
I can see myself spending plenty of hours in here….

Sneak Peek of classes with Melissa Kennedy

IMG_5837
As promised here are the sneak peeks Melissa e-mailed through to me for the classes on the 19th October.

Lady Rose Collection

We will be creating a double page layout using this beautiful collection.

Hidden Treasures Collection

In this class we will be creating 2 single page layouts.

We have lists of what to bring and photo sizes ready in the shop for those attending. Pretty sure I have e-mailed everyone outside of Geraldton. If  you don’t have a list yet – let me know and I’ll send it through.

We still have a couple of spaces left so don’t leave it too long to book in!!

Storing Cards

On numerous occasions we get asked what is the best way to store the cards you receive for special occasions.

When Tony and I got married, I stuck all of the cards we received onto the last pages in our album. When Elisa (our first child) was born, I made a mini book out of it. Unfortunately its in storage and I haven’t been able to show people exactly what I mean – but today I stumbled upon a detailed photo (and fancier than mine!) little album on pinterest.

Great idea isn’t? And very easy to store!
How do you store your Cards?

Blae and Ivy

IMG_3180
Last week I was cleaning up a bit in our store room and came across some of more the very popular Blae and Ivy kits we had as kit of the week a while ago.

The kit includes:

* 6 double sided papers
* rub ons,
* sticker sheet,
* twine,
* ribbon,
doilies,
* chipboard banners,
* cherry blossoms,
* mulberry flowers,
* mulberry butterflies,
* 2 metal charms and pearl brads as well as 2 hat pins.

Have a look at what Amber created using this kit (the only other product she used is her cuttlebug to die cut some leaves).

Please excuse the bad photos… I had to take the photos inside and it keeps reflecting off the plastic – the weather has been a bit to wild and windy to put the layouts outside.

Amber ised 2 of the Kaiser pocket pages and created a Project Life styled layout.

she also created this stunning layout from the kit.

The total kit costs $20, Amber created 1 single layout and 1 double (with bits left over!) which equals to only $6.67 per page! Bargain!!

Hurry as these kits are sure to run out fast and will not be replenished.

October Holiday Classes 2013

IMG_3179-copy
School Holidays are creeping up again!

We have a couple of wonderful classes planned for the kids these holidays.

On Monday’s we will be holding classes for a local group as we did last school holidays (looking forward to seeing you all again!) The items we will be making and price just needs to be confirmed with the co-ordinator, then I will share it with you.

N.B: Age Guidelines. I have put an approximate age for each class. But that is ONLY a guide as each child is different and all are at different levels. Only YOU know your child well enough to know if they can cope with the class. All projects are in store for viewing and I will leave it up to you to decide :). I’m also happy for you to stay – if not to help them you can sit at the spare table and have a coffee.
